Gens Host Country Night and take on 67’s
OSHAWA, ON – The Oshawa Generals are taking on the Ottawa 67’s Friday night at the Tribute Communities Centre for Country Night at 7:05!
The Generals will look to bounce back from a tough 5-3 loss to the Brantford Bulldogs on Sunday night. A rough second period sank the Generals in that game, regardless of a good effort in the first and third periods.
After five games, the Gennies sit second in the East Division while the 67’s sit fourth after playing just three games.
Ottawa is also looking to bounce back after a difficult loss to the Sarnia Sting on Sunday. After the 67’s cut the lead down to 3-2, the Sting scored seven straight before closing the game out with a 10-3 win.
The 67’s dominated the season series last season, winning seven of eight matchups against the Gens. Oshawa will be looking to start the season series off right, with each team set to face each other again on October 17th in Ottawa.
The player to watch for the Generals on Country Night is Mark Pape. Although Pape was on the fourth line against Brantford, he still managed to grab the second goal of his season as well as an assist.
Pape has had a strong start to the season, not only producing points but also bringing physicality to the lineup.
The player to watch for the 67’s is right-winger Filip Ekberg. The 2025 seventh-round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes is coming off a hat trick against Sarnia in just his second game of the season.
