ICEDOGS 4, COLTS 1
The Niagara IceDogs won their fifth straight game and second straight against Barrie by a score of 4-1 Saturday night.
Dougie Hamilton scored the game-winner on the power play midway through the second period and Mark Visentin stopped 20 of 21 shots to record the win.
Alex Friesen and Tom Kuhnhackl each had a goal and an assist, David Pacan had a pair of assists and Myles Doan also scored for Niagara.
Friesen scored on rookie Alex Fotinos 38 seconds in to the game to give the IceDogs an early lead. Colin Behenna scored the only Colts goal with just 44 seconds to go in the first frame.
Hamilton and Doan scored 76 seconds apart in the second period and then Kuhnhackl added the insurance marker midway through the third.
Barrie is now 1-4 in January and get set to host Saginaw and Guelph next week and then travel to Oshawa on Sunday.
