DALTON PROUT RETURNS TO BARRIE
The Columbus Blue Jackets have returned defenseman Dalton Prout to the Barrie Colts. Prout was drafted in the 6th round, 154th overall in 2010 and played one pre-season game with Columbus before being moved to their AHL affiliate.
On Thursday the overage defenseman returned to Barrie where he was named the eleventh captain in franchise history.
“Well it’s a great honour to be named captain,” said Prout. “It’s something that I will take a lot of pride in, and I’m really excited to get going.”
Prout takes over as captain for Stefan Della Rovere, who served as team captain for two seasons.
The 6’3” native of Lasalle, Ontario is expected to be in the lineup when Barrie travels to Kitchener Friday night.
