Colts Alumni, Mathias Niederberger, Headed to Beijing!
Mathias Niederberger Named To Germany’s Olympic Roster!
Mathias Niederberger has been named to represent Germany at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing!
Niederberger, a familiar name to Colts Country, backstopped the Colts for two seasons (2011-12 & 2012-13) appearing in 105 regular-season games with an impressive .926 SAV% and 2.50 GAA. Niederberger is the last Colts goalie to win a conference final where the Colts defeated the Belleville Bulls 4 games to 3 in the conference finals.
Mathias has played for the Eisbären Berlin in the DEL the past two seasons and won the DEL Championship in the 2020-21 season. During his DEL career, Niederberger has accumulated a .922 SAV% and 2.40 GAA in 267 games. This is the first time he has been named to the German Olympic roster.
Niederberger and Germany open the Olympics against Canada on February 10th!
