THE ROAD AHEAD: TRIPLE-HEADER WEEKEND OCT. 2-4
Fresh off the best start in franchise history with a perfect 5-0-0 start to the 2026-27 season, the Brantford Bulldogs head into another three-day weekend with their undefeated record on the line, hosting twice and visiting once in the season’s first matchings between these teams. Action begins this Friday, October 2nd at 7:00pm as the Bulldogs host the Brampton Steelheads. On Saturday October 3rd, Brantford welcomes the North Bay Battalion, with puck drop at 4:00pm. Finally, the Bulldogs wrap the weekend up on Sunday October 4th with a road trip to Owen Sound to face the Attack at 2:00pm.
Friday’s game against the Steelheads is the first of six meetings that Brantford will have throughout the 2026-27 season. Throughout last year’s series, the Bulldogs have taken the lead 4-2, with back-to-back wins in October 2025, beating the Steelheads 7-3 in Brampton on October 17th and a 9-3 win at home on October 18th. The Bulldogs would also claim victory on November 15th and February 25th, winning at home both times with a final score of 5-4. The Steelheads would claim their victory as well however, the first on November 28th in a 2-1 win, and the most recent matchup on March 22nd winning 6-1. Both teams have a mission heading into this game, for Brantford to continue the streak, and Brampton to record their first win of the season.
Saturday will be the first of four match-ups between the North Bay Battalion this season, and the teams last met in the Eastern Conference semifinal, where the Bulldogs swept the series in four games. In the game clincher on April 15th, the Bulldogs defeated the Battalion 5-3, with the winning goal scored by Jake O’Brien at 8:14 of the third period and G David Egorov making his first appearance of the postseason with 24 saves. North Bay currently stands 2-2, playing Brantford last for this weekend series.
The Bulldogs finish the weekend off with a road trip to Owen Sound to face-off against the Attack, meeting for the first matchup of two this season. Both teams will meet on the ice again on November 27th at 7:00pm, when Brantford hosts the return. During the 2025-26 season, the Bulldogs swept both matchups between the Attack, once on the road, 2-1 and the last at home, 4-1. Brantford looks to extend the undefeated streak to three wins with the final on Sunday.
