Priority Selection picks swapped
BRAMPTON, Ont. The Brampton Battalion has traded two of its picks in the Ontario Hockey League’s Priority Selection next Saturday for future choices, Stan Butler, director of hockey operations, announced Monday.rrThe Battalion traded its 10th-round selection this year to the Kitchener Rangers for their 10th-round pick in 2007. The Troops earlier traded their 14th-round choice this year to the Sudbury Wolves for their 14th-round pick in 2008.rrThe trades reduce the Battalion’s choices in the 15-round selection process Saturday to 18. In light of trades, the Troops have one pick in every round except the 14th, with one extra choice in each of the fourth, fifth, seventh and 15th rounds.rrThe Battalion, which finished first in the Central Division in 2005-06, posted a won-lost-extended record of 44-21-3 for 91 points, fourth-highest in the 20-team league, and will select 17th in the first round.rrThe OHL Priority Selection will be conducted via the Internet for a sixth consecutive year.
