Wildcats Defeat Islanders in First Exhibition Game
MONCTON NB – The Moncton Wildcats are on the prowl as they start the pre-season with a 5-2 victory over the Charlottetown Islander.
Eric Leger (3), Benji Curtis and Shayne Dominie shared the goals tonight for the Cats. Assists go to Sebastien Cormier (2), Cameron Askew (2), Zach Malatesta (2), Liam Conrad and Mathieu Olivier.
Wildcats outshot the Islanders 40-20 and Sebastien Dupré and Hugo Talbot-Tassi shared the net allowing 1 goal on 12 shots and 1 goal on 8 shots respectively.
The Cats used the power plays to their advantage scoring an impressive 4 power play goals.
The team returns to action this Sunday at 3PM in Miramichi vs. the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Next home exhibition game is next Saturday, August 23rd in Amherst at the Amherst Stadium at 7PM. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors and $6 for children 12 and under. All fans in attendance will receive a limited edition ‘MVP’ Alex Dubeau Hockey Card.
