Potvin suspended four games
The Director of Player Safety of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Éric Chouinard, today suspended Frédéric Potvin for four (4) games. The suspension was handed out following an incident that occurred on March 17 against the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
Here is the rationale that led to the decision:
With the Drummondville player vulnerable with his back to the play and a few feet from the boards, the Val d’Or player had plenty of time to make a better decision but chose to push his opponent to make him fall dangerously into the boards. The Voltigeurs player was injured on the play.
The Director of Player Safety came to this decision after reviewing the video of the incident, considered the officials’ report, spoken to the players and organizations involved and after consulting the Advisory Committee for disciplinary action
