Sea Dogs relieve Jacques Beaulieu of his duties
SAINT JOHN, Monday, March 30, 2009 – The President of the Saint John Sea Dogs, Wayne Long, today announce that General Manager and Head Coach Jacques Beaulieu has been relieved of his duties effective immediately.
He becomes the second GM/Head Coach to lose his job today after the Foreurs fired Éric Lavigne earlier this morning.
"This was an incredibly difficult decision to let Jacques go and I sincerely thank him for his contribution to our organization over the course of the past three years," said Long. "We felt that it was time for the Sea Dogs to move in a new direction, and we’re looking forward to turning the page and starting a new chapter in our history with a new hockey operations leader in the coming months."
Beaulieu, 41, registered a 95-111 record during his three-year run as the Sea Dogs’ Head Coach.
