Videotron Player of the Week | Jordan Dumais (November 13, 2023)
The latest Videotron Player of the Week is Halifax Mooseheads winger Jordan Dumais. The 19-year-old from Ile-Bizard, Quebec scored three times and added four assists while the Mooseheads went 3-0-0-0 to continue their recent winning streak.
On Friday night in Saint John, Dumais wasted no time, scoring his 10th goal of the season just over a minute into an eventual 4-2 Halifax victory over the Sea Dogs. The fourth-year veteran, who would be named the game’s first star, added another tally and an assist on the eventual game-winner before the night was over.
Back at home the following evening, Dumais once again found his way onto the scoresheet, potting a third period marker in a 4-1 Mooseheads triumph over the Shawinigan Cataractes. Finishing with a +1 rating on the night, Dumais was named the game’s third star.
Sunday afternoon’s contest in Halifax would prove to be historic. Dumais’ first period assist on the eventual game-winner by Markus Vidicek was the 304th career point for the Mooseheads sniper, breaking a 20-year-old franchise record held by former Halifax captain Brandon Benedict. By the time the game was over, Dumais cashed in with three helpers and first star honors while the Mooseheads earned their eighth straight victory with a 4-0 shutout of the Cape Breton Eagles.
Since arriving in Halifax from training camp with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the club which selected him in the third round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Dumais has yet to be held off the scoresheet. Through 11 games, he has picked up an incredible 12 goals and 28 points, tying him for sixth place in the league’s scoring race.
