SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs are proud to announce Anthony Stella has been named Assistant General Manager.
The native of Laval, Quebec, has been a Montreal-area scout with the Sea Dogs for the past three seasons. Last year, he was the Director of Player Development.
Prior to joining Saint John, Stella served as the head scout for the St-Leonard Arctic of the Ligue de Hockey Junior AAA du Quebec (LHJAAAQ).
Stella will be a resident of Saint John and assist primarily with QMJHL scouting, administration, and special assignments.
“It is important to recognize and promote from within your organization,” said Sea Dogs President and General Manager Trevor Georgie. “I believe in meritocracy, and Anthony is an ambitious rising hockey executive who has worked extremely hard since joining our club. His work ethic is incredible and we are thrilled to have him here in Saint John.”
“I am honoured that the organization has shown such confidence in me,” said Stella. “It is a privilege to continue with the Sea Dogs in this capacity, and now call Saint John home. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Trevor and his team, and be part of the Sea Dogs progressive approach.”
“Anthony saw over one thousand games the past three seasons – he won’t be outworked,” Georgie said. “We want Anthony in the rinks and will count on him scouting the QMJHL. He is also going to be tasked with hockey administration and additional special projects which we hope will give us a competitive advantage long-term.”
