Océanic organization, players rewarded for their stellar seasons
With the first round of the playoffs already under way, four QMJHL trophies were awarded to the Rimouski Océanic organization prior to game #2 of their playoff series versus the Wildcats on Saturday.
The Océanic received the Robert-Lebel Trophy after the team recorded the best goals-against average during the regular season. Rimouski maintained a 2.47 goal-against-average after allowing only 174 markers in 68 games, five less than their closest pursuers, the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
The trophy was presented to Océanic’s alternate captain Charle-Édouard D’Astous by Denis Gigault of Alimentation COOP Rimouski.
Dove-McFalls, Lafrenière and Ellis also recognized
Also during the pre-game ceremony, three Océanic players were rewarded for their individual efforts.
The Guy Carbonneau Trophy is awarded to the best defensive forward. This year’s recipient is Samuel Dove-McFalls, captain of the Rimouski Océanic. The award was presented by Alex Decoste of Labatt.

Then, Alexis Lafrenière received the Michel Bergeron trophy awarded to the offensive rookie of the year after an extraordinary season in which he tallied 42 goals and added 38 assists. It was presented by Nancy Côté of Ameublements Tanguay.

Finally, the Raymond-Lagacé Trophy was awarded to the defensive rookie of the year, Colten Ellis, the Océanic goaltender. Ellis posted impressive numbers with a 2.35 goal-against-average, a .913 save percentage and six shutouts. The trophy was presented by David Proulx of Rimouski Mitsubishi.
