Chicoutimi tame Wildcats before big Avenir Centre crowd
The Chicoutimi Saguenéens dumped the hometown Wildcats 5-2 before 5,700 fans at Avenir Center on Sunday.
One of the league’s top powerplays struck for two goals as the Sags held period leads of 1-0 and 3-2. The Wildcats did outshoot the opposition 15-2 in the third but both Chicoutimi shots went in.
The Chicoutimi offense was led by Belarussian star Andrei Loshko — a goal and three assists.
Moncton markers from Yoan Loshing, shorthanded (19th) and Vincent Labelle (15th). Former Wildcat Charles-Antoine Lavallée was sharp, notching the win with 25 saves, Jacob Steinman was tagged with the loss making 18 saves.
The Cats record moves to 22-18-0-2.
