Roy, Phoenix hand Titan third-straight loss
SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Sherbrooke Phoenix handed the Acadie-Bathurst Titan their third-straight loss on the road Tuesday night. The Titan fell 5-2 at Palais des Sports Léopold-Drolet.
Joshua Roy and Anthony Munroe-Boucher had a pair of goals while David Spacek had the other tally in the Phoenix’s win over Acadie-Bathurst. Ty Higgins and Montreal Canadiens prospect Riley Kidney netted the two goals for the visitors.
Roy scored his two goals in the first period – one being a penalty shot—while Higgins scored the first goal for Bathurst in the first 20 minutes of play. Kidney netted the game-tying goal early in the second on the powerplay at 5:59, before Munroe-Boucher went on to score the game-winning goal on the powerplay for Sherbrooke just shy of the 11 minute mark in the second.
Munroe-Boucher and Spacek scored in the third period – 5:34 and 10:20 – to pull away with the 5-2 win over the Titan. By the buzzer the visitors outshot the Phoenix 36-32 and went one-for-four on the powerplay. Sherbrooke, meanwhile, scored twice on their three powerplays throughout the night.
The Titan now head to Shawinigan where they will faceoff with the Cataractes tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Atlantic Time at Centre Gervais Auto.
