It’s a nice view from the top for the Titan.
As of Monday morning, the home side is second overall in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League standings, and first in the Maritimes Division. Acadie-Bathurst (9-4-0-0) has 18 points in 13 games, and are one-point shy of Drummondville, which has 19 points in 12 games.
Bathurst is a point above Moncton (8-2-1-0) in the third spot with 17 points in 11 games, while Rimouski (8-3-0-0) and Halifax (7-3-2-0) take the fourth and fifth spots respectively, with 16 points each.
It was a successful campaign this past week for Bathurst.
Between Oct. 13 and Oct. 20, the Titan won three of four games. They kicked-off the week with a 3-2 overtime win against Victoriaville Oct. 13, followed by a 3-2 shootout win against Chicoutimi, Thursday. They fell 3-0 to Saint John on Friday – subsequently snapping a five-game winning streak for the Titan – before bouncing back to beat the Sea Dogs 4-3 Sunday night on the road.
They’ll travel to Cape Breton later this week to play a pair of back-to-back games against the Eagles at Centre 200 on Thursday and Friday. The Titan have a 2-0 record (winning 4-2 Sept. 20 and 4-1 Sept. 21 in Bathurst) against Cape Breton to date this season. The Eagles (5-5-0-1) are currently 13th overall in the Q with 11 points in 11 games.
