SEA DOGS RESCHEDULE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, TEDDY BEAR TOSS
SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs announced today the team has rescheduled two game themes for the 2014-15 season.
Support our Troops Night, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 1st, has been pushed back to Sunday, February 22nd, when the Sea Dogs host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The decision was made in consultation with Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, and other military personnel scheduled to be involved, in light of recent tragedies in Quebec and Ottawa.
The Sea Dogs will mark Remembrance Day with a pregame ceremony prior to Saturday’s game.
Teddy Bear Toss, originally slated for Saturday, January 10th, has been moved to Sunday, December 7th, when the Sea Dogs host the defending President Cup champion Val-d’Or Foreurs.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently-used teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the game and throw it on the ice after the Sea Dogs score their first goal. The animals will be collected by volunteers from the Saint John Police Association and distributed to children in hospital in this region during the holiday season.
The December 7th match-up is also the Sea Dogs’ annual Christmas at the Station game.
