SEA DOGS RECALL DEFENCEMAN MARTINEAU

SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs have recalled defenceman Vincent Martineau from the College Esther-Blondin Phenix of the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League (QMAAA).

Martineau, 16, was selected by the Sea Dogs in the third round (51st overall) of the 2015 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.

The native of Terrebone, Quebec, is the captain of the Phenix. He has a goal and assist in five games so far this season after posting three goals and 15 points in 42 games last year.

He recorded two penalty minutes in two preseason games for Saint John.

“Vincent was named captain of his midget team and we’re pleased with his progress so far,” said General Manager Darrell Young. “We’ve had a chance to see several of our draft picks play for Saint John early this season and we want to give Vincent a chance to show his stuff as well.”

The Sea Dogs also announced five players have been reassigned to their midget and junior A clubs:
