JUSTICE COMES TO SEA DOGS
SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs have signed twenty-year-old left winger Justice Dundas as a free agent.
The 6’1″, 190-lb. native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, played last season with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), totaling four goals and nine points in 51 games. In 152 career games over three seasons with the Generals and Sarnia Sting, Dundas recorded 16 goals and 30 points, along with 306 penalty minutes.
Dundas recently returned to Canada after attending the rookie training camp for the St. Louis Blues, which included the annual NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. He was called a “nice surprise” in a tournament scouting report by The Hockey News. He also participated in a rookie camp with the San Jose Sharks last season.
“We see Justice as the ultimate team guy,” said Sea Dogs General Manager Darrell Young. “We have a young team and felt we needed more of a physical presence up front.
“He brings a mature body to our lineup. He sticks up for his teammates and defends his team’s honour.”
Dundas is expected to be available to play in the Sea Dogs’ next game, Saturday, September 27th, at 7 p.m. against the Halifax Mooseheads at Harbour Station.
