Savoie wins Memorial Cup and Gilles-Courteau Trophy
Former Sea Dogs forward Charles Savoie helped the Quebec Remparts capture the QMJHL’s Gilles-Courteau Trophy and the Memorial Cup earlier this month. The St-Eustache, Quebec native had two points in three games at the tournament held in Kamloops, British Colombia.

Bezeau signs two-year contract with Charlotte
Another member of the 2022 championship team, Riley Bezeau signed a new two-year contract with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers this week. The native of Rothesay, New Brunswick had eight points in 51 games during the 2022-23 season, the first of his professional career.

Desroches commits to Acadia University
Sea Dogs captain and 2022 Memorial Cup champion Charlie Desroches was announced as the latest player to join the Acadia Axemen hockey program for the 2023-24 season. The Summerside, Prince Edward Island product is coming off a career-high 35 points in 50 games this past season.

Lawrence inks deal with Swiss League team
Fredericton, New Brunswick product Josh Lawrence put pen to paper on his first professional contract with EHC Winterthur of the Swiss League. After spending the first four years of his major junior career in Saint John and winning the Memorial Cup in 2022 with the team, Lawrence spent this past season with the Halifax Mooseheads.
