Mario Duhamel appoints his assistant-coaches
Gatineau, June 18th 2016 – The Gatineau Olympiques’ head coach, Mario Duhamel, announced the appointment of his assistant-coaches: Jean-François Grégoire, Éric Landry, Stéphane Proulx and Pierre Boisvert.
Jean-François Grégoire was the head coach of the Drummondville Voltigeurs for the second half of last season. Previously, he was the assistant coach of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Before his duty with the Titan, he has been the QMJHL scouting director. Mr. Grégoire also played in the QMJHL from 1989 to 1993 with the Granby Bisons, the Shawinigan Cataractes, and the St-Hyacinthe Laser.
Éric Landry is back with the Olympiques as an assistant coach for a third consecutive year. As a player, he started his career in the QMJHL in 1993 with the St-Hyacinthe Laser. He then played for the Montreal Canadiens, the Quebec Citadelles, the Moscow Dynamo in the KHL, before ending his career with Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss-A League in 2012.
Stéphane Proulx is back for a second year with the Olympiques as goalie coach. Last year, the two netminders under his responsibility, Mathieu Bellemare and Mark Grametbauer, ended their season in the league’s top 3 for the goals against average. He will also be part of next year’s U-17 Team Canada at the world championship that will be held in Sault-Ste.-Marie from October 30 to November 5.
Pierre Boisvert is back for a third consecutive year as video coach for the Olympiques. Previously, he was scout for the Ontario region for the Olympiques for four years.
