Chris McQuaid done for the year
The Olympiques have announced on Tuesday that defenseman Chris McQuaid will undergo season-ending surgery for a lower-body injury.
“After numerous failed attempts through treatments and rehabilitation, we have decided that it was better for Chris to go ahead with surgery to fix the problem once and for all. By doing it now, we expect that Chris will be back for training camp next fall”, has mentioned Hockey Operations Director, Alain Sear.
The 19-year-old defenseman, who hasn’t played since January 14, took part in 35 games in 2018-19, scoring one goal and adding four assists for a total of five points.
McQuaid was also selected as the Olympiques’ nominee for the Marcel-Robert Trophy, awarded annually to the QMJHL’s Scholastic Player of the Year.
