Rough Night vs the Titan in 2-0 Shutout

There wasn’t much to get excited about for Mooseheads fans on Thursday night at Scotiabank Centre in a bleak effort against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Mathis Rousseau was the lone bright spot with 32 saves in a 2-0 loss to the visitors.
Colby Huggan scored twice, including an empty net goal in the potential first round playoff preview while goalie Antoine Keller was perfect with 25 saves to earn the shutout. Bathurst remains the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference and would face the second seeded Mooseheads in the first round in the playoffs were to begin today.
7,099 were on hand for the game that lasted just two hours and six minutes and Halifax’s season record against Bathurst dropped to 5-2-1-0 with one more meeting coming up on March 8th at Scotiabank Centre.
Former Mooseheads forward Yannik Ponzetto picked up an assist on the first Huggan goal that came 3:23 into the third period while rookie Louis-Francois Belanger had the other helper. The Titan will play five of their final nine games on home ice while Halifax has just seven games remaining in the regular season with four more to come at home.
