Islanders drop Game 2 to the Armada
The Islanders improved on their Game One performance but the result was the same, as a goaltenders duel led to a 1-0 victory for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
The first period was relatively uneventful, with the Islanders going on to outshoot the Blainville 9 to 8.
The play would pick up in the second as just over five minutes into the period the Armada took advantage of a P.O. Joseph hooking call, with Alexandre Alain picking up his league leading 11th goal of the playoffs, with Alex Barre-Boulet and Pascal Corbeil earning assists.
That was all to the offence the game would see though as the Islanders were unable to take advantage of an extra-attacker late, going on to fall in Game 2, 1-0.
Matthew Welsh earned second star of the game honours for the second straight game with a 27-save performance.
