Blier receives scholarship
The Cataractes forward and Humanities student at Collège Shawinigan, Samuel Blier, was awarded a scholarship of $ 2,500 to the Fondation Sport-Études. This perseverance award rewards the efforts required from student-athletes in the pursuit of post-secondary education.
Having played for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens during his first three seasons in the QMJHL, the native of Victoriaville athlete was traded to the City of Energy at the most recent trade period. In 24 regular season games in Shawinigan, Blier added two assists, in addition to posting a +4 rating. The #92 Cataractes added a goal and an assist in 20 games in the most recent playoffs.
Collège Shawinigan participates in the Alliance Sport-Études for many years. Student-athletes may benefit from certain advantages such as the spreading of studies over a longer period, a suitable school calendar and custom schedules.
