Honourary Captains Named for ADT Canada Russia Challenge
rToronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the honourary captains for the Ontario Hockey League games of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge.

rPaul Coffey is the honourary captain for the game held in Kitchener on November 22 and Rod Schutt is the honourary captain for the game in Sudbury on November 26.

rCoffey scored 48 goals and 195 points in two all-star seasons with the Kitchener Rangers before becoming the sixth overall pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 1980 National Hockey League Draft. He scored 396 goals and
r1,135 assists for 1,531 points in 21 NHL seasons and was a first or second all-star eight times. Coffey won the Norris Trophy as the NHL"s top defenceman three times and played in the NHL All-Star Game 14 times. He also represented Canada four times in the Canada Cup and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004.

rSchutt was an outstanding offensive performer for the Sudbury Wolves for three seasons in the late 1970"s. He scored a team-record 72 goals during the 1975-76 season, a record that he still hold today. He also shares the Wolves" record for most goals in one game with five. Schutt is tied with Ron Duguay for third in career goals scored with 130 and is fifth on the Wolves"
rall-time scoring list with 293 points scored. He is the Wolves" playoff goal scoring leader with 31 and helped the team to their first OHL Championship Series appearance in 1976. Schutt went on to play 286 games in the NHL, mostly with the Pittsburgh Penguins before retiring in 1986.

rThe ADT Canada/Russia Challenge features a team of CHL All-Stars representing each regional league that will compete against the Russian National Junior team.

rThe series will roll out across the country with two games in each regional league. The Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the QMJHL will host the opening game of the 2007 ADT Canada/Russia Challenge on Monday, November 19 followed by the Gatineau Olympiques with the second game of the series on Wednesday, November 21. The series concludes in Western Canada with games in Cranbrook (Kootenay), BC on Wednesday, November 28 and Medicine Hat, Alberta on Thursday, November 29.

rAll six games will be broadcast nationally on Rogers Sportsnet with RDS televising both games from the QMJHL.

rLast year the CHL won all six games of the series and Team Canada would later go on to defeat Russia to win the gold medal at the 2007 IIHF World Junior Championships. The CHL has won the past three ADT Canada/Russia Challenges and Team Canada has defeated Russia to win the gold medal in the past three World Junior Championships.
