David Desharnais Named the CHL Player of the Week
Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Chicoutimi Sagueneens forward David Desharnais is the CHL Player of the Week.
Desharnais had three goals and eight points in two games this past week including a five point game in a 6-4 win over Drummondville. Desharnais is currently 10th in the QMJHL scoring race and a big reason why the Sagueneens are second in the QMJHL standings.
Ilia Ejov was the QMJHL’s Defensive Player of the Week after finishing the week with three victories. Ejov helped the St. John’s Fog Devils pick up a pair of victories over the Halifax Mooseheads and another over the Saint John Sea Dogs. In three wins, Ejov posted a ..922 save percentage. Dustin Slade of the Vancouver Giants was the WHL Player of the Week after going 2-0 on the week. Slade posted a 0.50 goals against average and a .979 save percentage in a pair of victories including a shutout over the Seattle Thunderbirds. Justin Donati was the OHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and eight points in three games.
