Jean-Philippe Levasseur Named the CHL Player of the Week

Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Rouyn-Noranda goaltender Jean-Philippe Levasseur is the CHL Player of the Week.

Levasseur posted shutouts in wins over Baie-Comeau & Drummondville and finished the week with a 2-1-0-0 record. Levasseur posted a goals against average of 1.33 and had a save percentage of .952 as he became the first goalie in the QMJHL to reach the 20 win plateau.

Alex Bourret was the QMJHL’s Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal and adding eight assists in three games last week and now has 55 points in just 32 games this season. Joe Barnes of the Saskatoon Blades was the WHL Player of the Week after scoring three goals and adding an assist in a pair of games. James Neal of the Plymouth Whalers was the OHL Player of the Week after scoring a goal and adding five assists in two games.
