Congratulations to the Eston Rambler Atoms – Winners of Old Dutch Rising Prospects
For the third year Old Dutch has partnered with the CHL to offer the 2011/12 Rising Prospects contest and the ultimate hockey prize – a training day with a CHL team and VIP tickets to a CHL game.
Thousands of hopeful hockey parents and coaches entered on behalf of their kids’ teams (players ages 6 to 12). The winning team is the Eston Rambler Atoms from Eston, SK. These excited 9 and 10 year old boys and girls attended the Swift Current Broncos vs Red Deer Rebels game as VIP guests on Saturday, January 14. The next day, they got into their gear and went on-ice with their heroes from the Broncos to receive a “skills and drills” instructional session. Sportsnet attended to film segments of the “skills and drills” and CHL game, and will be featured on Hockey Central, sportsnet.ca, olddutchfoods.ca, chl.ca and their league sites, the Old Dutch YouTube Channel and Facebook.com/olddutch.
“Our Atom team has a very strong league,” said Shannon Beckstrand, who entered on behalf of the Eston Rambler Atoms. “Since we live in a small town we do not have a lot of players. Last year we only had two second year Atom players to play with our first year kids. The kids struggled with making only a few wins in the 2010/2011 year. Although they stayed positive and tried with all their might, they came last in the league. This would be a fun and exciting opportunity for these kids. It would boost them up for this upcoming hockey year. It would bring them confidence and a new exciting outlook on the game of hockey. I would really love for them to win this chance to spend a day with the CHL Team and keep the fun in hockey.”
“Rising Prospects continues to develop the connection between Old Dutch Foods and families all across Canada,” says Scott Kelemen, National Director of Marketing for Old Dutch Foods. “You can see the joy and respect on these kids’ faces as they work with the CHL players. We’re pleased to be able to help them develop their passion for Canada’s game.”
“Rising Prospects provides an opportunity to thank families for their support of our products,” says Kelemen. “And it helps consumers understand the quality Old Dutch Foods offers in all that we do.”
