Officiating Staff Announced for 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the Officiating Staff that will work the 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game January 19 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON.
OHL Referees Dave Lewis and Darcy Burchell will skate the game, along with OHL linesmen Jordan Browne and Jesse Wilmot.
Both Lewis and Burchell are certified as Level VI officials through Hockey Canada’s Officiating Program and have also been assigned to work IIHF World Championship games later this season. Lewis, from Oshawa, ON, is skating in his seventh OHL season and fifth as a referee, while Burchell, from Hamilton, ON, is skating in his eighth OHL season. Browne is a fourth year OHL linesman from Oshawa, ON, and Wilmot is in his third OHL season and officiated at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Buffalo, NY, including the Bronze Medal Game.
The Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, which also includes a Skills Competition on Tuesday January 18, features 40 of the CHL’s top draft eligible players for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. This annual showcase features the next wave of NHL talent from the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is supported by associate sponsors Bank of Montreal, Subway, and CCM. The game will be broadcast live to a national audience on Rogers Sportsnet and RDS beginning at 7:00 pm Eastern.
