Silvertips’ Wolf recognized with Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year Award
Dustin Wolf has once again be recognized on a national level.
The Everett Silvertips netminder and 2020 recipient of the CHL Goaltender of the Year Award presented by Vaughn has been honoured with the Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year Award, USA Hockey announced Wednesday.
“This is obviously a huge honour, especially with USA Hockey,” Wolf said in a statement. “I strive to be the best in everything I do, and to be awarded something like this is a testament to that hard work and dedication, and the amazing team that we had. It’s definitely a special honour and one that I take pride in.”
The Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year Award recognizes the top American goaltender competing at the junior level and is named in honour of the late goaltending coach who twice led the U.S. Olympic team.
With the Silvertips this season, the 2019 seventh-round selection by the Calgary Flames led the WHL in all four major goaltending categories including 34 wins, a .935 save percentage, 1.88 goals-against average, and nine shutouts.
A native of Tustin, Calif., Wolf has twice represented the United States on the national level counting the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the 2020 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
