2013 WJC Day 4 Results
The 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship continued Saturday in Ufa, Russia, with two games on the schedule:
Sweden 5 vs. Latvia 1
Sweden remains undefeated at the World Junior Championship following a 5-1 victory over winless Latvia.
Anaheim Ducks prospect and Sweden alternate captain Rickard Rakell of the Plymouth Whalers picked up an assist in the contest.
Russia 7 vs. Germany 0
The host Team Russia picked up their third win of the tournament with a 7-0 shutout victory over Germany who remains winless in three games.
Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Nikita Kucherov of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies scored a goal and an assist for Russia.
Buffalo Sabres prospect Mikhail Grigorenko of the Quebec Remparts picked up two assists.
Edmonton Oilers prospect Daniil Zharkov of the Belleville Bulls scored a goal.
Former Sarnia Sting Nail Yakupov scored a goal and an assist, while former Windsor Spitfire Alexander Khokhlachev had two assists.
Marvin Cupper of the Shawinigan Cataractes made 36 saves despite the loss.
Sunday’s schedule features four games including Canada vs. United States, Finland vs. Switzerland, Czech Republic vs. Latvia, and Slovakia vs. Germany.
