2013 Dodge Family All-Star Winners
The votes have been tallied, the judges have weighed in.
Over the past two months, the field of participating families was narrowed down to three families from each league – the OHL, WHL and QMJHL.
These three Dodge Family All-Star families will now be heading to the 2013 CHL Awards and the MasterCard Memorial Cup in Saskatoon.
The decision of the voters and judges was difficult. CHL billet families from across Canada submitted their stories to the Dodge Family All-Star program detailing their life as a billet family. Imagine their grocery bills!
Combined, our three winners have opened their homes to 54 CHL players in over 22 seasons. The three selected families accumulated 32 per cent of votes cast throughout the Dodge Family All-Stars voting period. Those votes and also the compelling stories they shared that took them over the top.
The three 2013 Dodge Family All-Star winners are:
Bill and Pat Moore (PEI Rocket)
Terry and Jonna Easterby (Sarnia Sting)
Kelly and Dan Snowden (Regina Pats)
The Moore, Easterby and Snowden families, together with all of the families that participated in the inaugural year of the Dodge Family All-Star program, exemplify the giving and community-minded hockey-spirit that is the foundation of Canadian hockey.
Dodge and the CHL thank all of the families who participated in the Dodge Family All-Stars program and look forward to seeing the Moore, Easterby and Snowden families in Saskatoon.
Our three families will take centre stage at the CHL Awards Banquet, plus they will be on the ice at the MasterCard Memorial Cup Semi Final game, where one of them will win a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan.
About the Winning Billet Families
“We are thrilled to be the number one family representing PEI! This has been so exciting and our boys are so happy for us!” said Pat Moore, billet family from the QMJHL.
“It’s a tremendous feeling to make it to the finals of the billet contest considering the hundreds of other families who do a remarkable job throughout the winter,” said Terry and Jonna Easterby from the OHL.
“We are thrilled to have won this experience”, exclaimed the Snowdens. “Our current player lives in Saskatoon so we will be able to see him too which will be nice.”
They Voted. They Won.
It takes a village to billet a CHL player and over 3,600 votes were cast in support of the families who participated in the Dodge Family All-Star program.
Everyone who voted had the chance to win one of three sets of 2013/2014 season’s tickets to their local CHL team (one per league).
The three lucky winners have been chosen. Congratulations goes to:
Audrey Malley, Calgary AB, Calgary Hitmen
Chantel Burns, Windsor ON, Windsor Spitfires
Tracy Carmichael, Charlottetown PEI, PEI Rocket
