2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup: Coming to you live from a computer near you!
Toronto, Ontario and Rimouski, Quebec – TELUS and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) are pleased to announce that they will Webcast all of the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup games. From coast to coast, hockey fans will be able to catch all of the live action from the Colisée de Rimouski, by visiting memorialcup.mytelus.com.

The 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup kicks off on Friday, May 15 with a game between the Western Hockey League champions, the Kelowna Rockets, and Rimouski’s own Océanic. TELUS is offering its High Speed Internet subscribers the opportunity to watch all nine Memorial Cup games live or delayed, free of charge:

o Saturday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m. – Drummondville Voltigeurs vs. Windsor Spitfires
o Sunday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m. – Rimouski Océanic vs. Windsor Spitfires
o Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. – Drummondville Voltigeurs vs. Kelowna Rockets
o Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. – Windsor Spitfires vs. Kelowna Rockets
o Wednesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. – Rimouski Océanic vs. Drummondville Voltigeurs
o Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. – Tie breaker (if necessary)
o Friday, May 22 at 7 p.m. – Semi-finals
o Sunday, May 24 at 4:30 p.m. – Championship Final

CHL fans who are not TELUS High Speed Internet subscribers will be able to watch any of the tournament games in real-time for $6.95, or delayed for $3.95.

Become a sports commentator overnight!
Fans who have always dreamed of being a sports announcer will get their chance at the “Galerie de presse TELUS’’ inside the Memorial Village. Visitors can audition in front of a real camera while offering their best play-by-play commentary of two Rimouski Océanic goals. The best performances will be broadcast during the Alumni Game presented by TELUS on May 23 at the Colisée de Rimouski.

The prestigious MasterCard Memorial Cup showcases the best teams from the CHL’s three member leagues: the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Donated by the Ontario Hockey Association in 1919 to honour Canada’s fallen soldiers, the Memorial Cup is the most prestigious trophy awarded by the CHL.
