Slovakia and Denmark took wins on a light Day 2 of the 2016 World Junior Hockey Championship in Helsinki, Finland.
Here’s a look at Sunday’s action.
SLOVAKIA 4, BELARUS 2
A pair of third period goals gave Slovakia a 4-2 victory to open their tournament schedule.
Lukas Hrusik and Juraj Siska found the back of the net to propel Slovakia past Belarus after the two clubs entered the third period knotted at two.
Slovakia outshot Belarus 39-26 in the victory.
DENMARK 2, SWITZERLAND 1
Early third period goals from Soeren Nielsen and Mathias From lifted Denmark to a 2-1 comeback victory over Switzerland.
Seattle Thunderbirds winger Alexander True had an assist in the win as the Danes defeated Switzerland for the second straight year at the World Junior Championship.
Both nations prepare to face Canada next, with Denmark facing them on Monday and Switzerland up to face the Canadians on Tuesday.
