WHL Pre-Season Schedule/Results

AMS CLOSE OUT PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENT WITH SHUTOUT WIN – Joel Broda scored the game-winner and added a pair of assists to pace the Tri-City Americans to a 5-0 victory over the Everett Silvertips in the finale of the Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season tournament in Wennewick, WA.

rTyler Schmidt tallied a pair of goals for the Ams – the tournament’s host team – while Chris Inglis and Kyle Peters also tallied in the win.

rChet Pickard turned aside all 20 shots he faced to earn the shutout for the Ams, while Matt Esposito and Chris Ward combined for 17 saves for the Silvertips in the defeat.

rElsewhere on Sunday, Thomas Frazee scored the game-winner as the Portland Winter Hawks rallied to a 6-5 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds at the Tri-Cities tournament in Kennewick.

rThe Saskatoon Ice-Breaker tournament also wrapped up on Sunday with the Regina Pats downing the host Blades 4-1, and the Prince George Cougars knocking off the Prince Albert Raiders 5-1.

rWHL Pre-Season action continues on Tuesday with the Swift Current Broncos hosting the Brandon Wheat Kings, and the Chilliwack Bruins taking on the Kelowna Rockets.
