GIANTS FORWARD TY RONNING SCORES A HAT-TRICK IN 6-0 VICTORY OVER TIGERS
Ty Ronning led the Vancouver Giants offence with a hat-trick in their 6-0 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers. Former Medicine Hat Tiger Trevor Cox was consistent on the score sheet with three points (1g-2a) to earn second star honours. Giants goaltender Ryan Kubic earned his second shutout victory of the season after turning aside 33 Tigers shots.

The Tri-City Americans played a well-rounded game as they beat the Everett Silvertips by a score of 4-1. Americans forward Michael Rasmussen was named the game’s first star after collecting a pair of assists and a plus-2 rating. Evan Sarthou was solid in goal as he made 23 saves to secure the win. Tri-City demonstrated an effective penalty kill unit that held Everett scoreless in six opportunities.

Rourke Chartier had a game to remember as he lit the lamp three times to earn the hat-trick and guide the Kelowna Rockets to a 4-1 win against the Kootenay ICE. Rockets forward Tyson Baillie chipped in with two assists to extend his League leading point total to 47 (17g-30a). Kelowna outshot Kootenay by a wide margin of 59-19 in the defeat. ICE goaltender Wyatt Hoflin was productive in stopping 55 Rockets shots, albeit in a losing cause.

HITMEN 4, HURRICANES 6
Tyler Wong buried his 19th and 20th goals of the season to lead the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 6-4 victory over the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday night. Hitmen forward Mark Kastelic notched two points (1g-1a) for the Calgary Hitmen to earn third star honours in a losing effort. It was a chippy affair as the two Clubs combined for 82 minutes in penalties. Lethbridge has won five in a row.

WINTERHAWKS 3, COUGARS 5
The Prince George Cougars completed the two-game sweep against the Portland Winterhawks, coming away with a 5-3 win. Kody McDonald recorded three points (1g-2a) to go along with a plus-3 rating to earn first star honours for the Cougars. Ty Edmonds came in relief of goaltender Nick McBride late in the middle frame and stopped 15 shots to pick up the victory.

The Brandon Wheat Kings put on a dominating performance over the Swift Current Broncos as they picked up an 8-0 shutout win on the road. Wheat Kings forward Jayce Hawryluk notched a hat-trcik and also added an assist to cap off a four point night and earn first star honours. Brandon outshot Swift Current 48-17 and scored three power play goals in the win. With the loss, Swift Current has dropped nine straight.

Tyler Brown was solid as he stopped all 32 shots he faced as the Regina Pats blanked the Saskatoon Blades 5-0. Brown was named the game’s second star for his efforts while teammate Adam Brooks claimed first star mentions after tallying a pair of goals and an assist.
