HOBBS RECORDS FIRST CAREER WHL HAT-TRICK, PATS MELT ICE 7-5
Connor Hobbs collected his first career hat-trick as the Regina Pats downed the Kootenay Ice by a score of 7-5 on Friday night. Pats captain Adam Brooks had a monster performance on the score sheet as he recorded a career-high six points (2g-4a) to go along with a plus-5 rating to claim first star honours. ICE forward Zak Zborosky registered two goals and added a helper for a three point outing in a losing effort.

WARRIORS 4, RAIDERS 3 (OT)
Noah Gregor scored his 24th goal of the season in overtime as the Moose Jaw Warriors beat the Prince Albert Raiders 4-3. Warriors forward Brett Howden chipped in with two assists, including gathering the assist on Gregor’s game winner. Moose Jaw has now earned points in six straight going 5-0-1-0 while Prince Albert sees their losing streak extended to three.

OIL KINGS 3, WHEAT KINGS 8
The Brandon Wheat Kings buried the first six goals of the game en route to a decisive 8-3 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings. Wheat Kings alternate captain Tim McGauley scored twice and added an assist to finish with three points while teammate Jayce Hawryluk tallied three assists in the win. Defencemen Ivan Provorov and Kale Clague each tallied three helpers for the Wheat Kings who scored four times on their power play opportunities.

BLADES 12, BRONCOS 6
The Saskatoon Blades and the Swift Current Broncos completed a wild match-up as the two Clubs combined to score 18 goals in what was a 12-6 win for the Blades. Nine different Blades skaters recorded multiple point outings including Connor Gay with five points (2g-3a) and defenceman Colton Waltz with a goal and three assists. Three Broncos notched a goal and an assist including Glenn Gawdin, Tyler Steenbergen and Jon Martin. Regina outshot Swift Current 42-38 and clicked for a season-high five power play goals.

WINTERHAWKS 4, HURRICANES 2
Rodrigo Abols and Alex Schoenborn each scored two goals to lead the Portland Winterhawks to a 4-2 road win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Hurricanes fired 48 shots on goal with 19 of them coming in the third period alone but Winterhawks goaltender Adin Hill was steady with 46 saves. Portland is now 3-0-1-0 over their last four contests.

Despite being outshot 50-30, the Medicine Hat Tigers edged the Calgary Hitmen 3-2. Tigers netminders Nick Schneider was busy and impressive as he backstopped 48 shots to earn first star mentions. Both Clubs went 1/4 on their power play opportunities.

REBELS 1, COUGARS 3
Jesse Gabrielle notched his 36th and 37th goals of the season to propel the Prince George Cougars to a 3-1 victory over the Red Deer Rebels. Ty Edmonds turned aside 34 shots for the Cougars and claimed first star honours. The Cougars held the Rebels scoreless on the power play, going a perfect 4/4 on the penalty kill. Red Deer has dropped five consecutive games in regulation.

The Victoria Royals defeated the Kamloops Blazers by a score of 4-1 to collect their eighth win in 10 contests. Royals forward Alex Forsberg recorded two points (1g-1a) while netminders Coleman Vollrath turned aside 25 shots to take home third star honours. Victoria held an 18-4 advantage in shots on goal through the opening frame and ended up finishing the contest with a 39-26 edge in shots.

Evan Sarthou gathered his second shutout of the season after stopping all 33 shots he faced as the Tri-City Americans blanked the Everett Silvertips 2-0. Mackenze Stewart scored his third goal of the season late in the first period on a short-handed rush and it stood as the game winner.

GIANTS 5, ROCKETS 6
Rourke Chartier and the Kelowna Rockets completed the comeback and took down the Vancouver Giants in a thriller by a score of 6-5. Chartier scored a pair of goals, including the game winner at the 14:29 mark of the third period while forward Tomas Soustal picked up a goal and an assist. Giants forward Chase Lang scored three goals in the first period all on Vancouver power plays to collect the hat-trick in a strong effort. Vancouver capitalized on four of ten power play chances and Kelowna went 1/6 on the man advantage.

CHIEFS 1, THUNDERBIRDS 2 (OT)
Ethan Bear scored the overtime winner as the Seattle Thunderbirds knocked off the Spokane Chiefs 2-1. Bear also scored in the third period to tie the game at one goal apiece and was named the game’s first star. Chiefs forward Markson Bechtold scored on a penalty shot attempt at the 11:58 mark of the second period.
