WHEAT KINGS TAKE GAME THREE – Eric Fehr netted the winner and set up another as the Brandon Wheat Kings pulled off a 3-2 win over the visiting Kelowna Rockets in game three of the Western Hockey League championship series on Tuesday night at the Keystone Centre.

rSteven Later and Lance Monych – with his league-leading 19th – also scored for the Wheat Kings, who still trail the Rockets 1-2 in the best-of-seven series. Netminder Tyler Plante stood tall for Brandon, turning aside 37 shots for his 13th win of the post-season.

rTyler Spurgeon opened the scoring for the Rockets while Lauris Darzins added a goal late in the third period to make for an interesting finish. Goaltender Kristofer Westblom, making only his second playoff appearance, turned aside 30 of 33 shots in a losing cause.

rThe Wheaties and Rockets square off again tonight in Brandon in game four. Game five, also in Brandon, is Friday night.
