WHL TUESDAY NIGHT RECAP – Ray Macias tallied the winner and added two assists to lead the Kamloops Blazers to a 4-3 win over the visiting Tri-City Americans in one of five Western Hockey League contests on Tuesday night.

rKris Hogg, Brock Nixon and Roman Tesliuk also scored for the Blazers while Bryan Kauk chipped in a pair of assists in the victory. The win improves the Blazers to 25-34-7-2 and gives them a seven-point lead over Prince George for the fourth and final playoff spot in the B.C. division.

rClinton Pettapiece, Clayton Stoner and Kirk Meaver scored for the Americans while Shaun Vey added two assists in a losing effort. The defeat leaves the Ams at 24-32-7-3, but they remain two points ahead of Spokane for the fourth place in the U.S. division.

rElsewhere on Tuesday, Ryan Russell scored two goals and added an assist as his Kootenay Ice blanked the visiting Calgary Hitmen 5-0.

rCasey Lee and Martin Sagat each tallied a goal and an assist for the Ice while Jeff Glass stopped 27 shots for his eighth shutout and 30th win of the season. The victory improves Kootenay to 43-15-6-2 and moves them into a tie with Kelowna for first in the B.C. division and first overall.

rJustin Pogge and Daniel Spence combined for 23 saves in a losing effort for the Hitmen. The defeat leaves Calgary at 33-22-8-4, but they remain third in the Central division.

rThe Medicine Hat Tigers rallied for three third-period goals in less than three minutes to come from behind and beat the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 last night – halting the Wheat Kings’ win streak at 15 games.

rCam Barker scored twice – including the winner – while Jarret Lukin and Devyn Tremblay also scored in the Tigers’ victory. The win improves the Tigers to 40-20-4-2 and sees them vault one point ahead of Lethbridge for first place in the Central division.

rLance Monych scored two goals and chipped in an assist for the Wheat Kings, who drop their first contest in over a month, while Eric Fehr scored a goal and an assist in a losing effort. The defeat leaves the Wheat Kings at 41-20-5-1, but they remain first in the East division and the Eastern conference.

rBrent Ottmann scored the game-winner as the Prince Albert Raiders managed a 3-1 victory over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors on Tuesday night.

rMike Hellyer and Aki Seitsonen also scored for the Raiders, who win their fourth game in their last five outings, while Rejean Beauchemin made 21 saves for his 18th win of the season. The victory improves the Raiders to 28-30-5-4 and they remain third in the East division.

rJustin Scott scored the lone goal for the Warriors while Josh Lepp made 21 saves in the defeat. The loss leaves the Warriors at 13-44-10-1, but they remain fourth in the East division.

rTy Morris and Colin Fraser each scored twice for the Rebels while Roman Wick chipped in three assists in the victory. The win improves the Rebels to 34-24-4-4 and leaves them just two points behind Calgary for third in the Central division.

rLogan Pyett, Jordan McGillivray, and Rick Rypien scored for the Pats while Jonathan Bubnick chipped in three assists. The – their 24th straight road defeat – loss extends Regina’s winless skid to 26 games, leaving them at 11-46-4-6 and five points behind Moose Jaw for fourth in the East division.
