WHL Graduating Class: Week 7
Through the months of July and August, the Western Hockey League is saying ‘thank you’ to its 2018 graduating class. From Aug 13 to 17, we extended our gratitude to five players who concluded their WHL careers in the 2017-18 season.
Tri-City Americans forward Jordan Topping recorded 217 points in 243 games, posting 80 points this past season, his third as the alternate captain. Topping helped his team advance to the Western Conference Final as he posted 14 points in 14 playoff games. He has signed with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Saskatoon Blades defenceman Evan Fiala was a leader and minute crunching defenceman who saw lots of ice-time. He served as the Captain of the Blades and, upon the conclusion of their season joined the South Carolina Stingray of the ECHL.

Edmonton Oil Kings forward Colton Kehler had 51 points (32G-19A) in 71 games, serving as an alternate captain this season. He played his entire WHL career with the Oil Kings, posting 108 points in 200 games. Kehler will be joining the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds next season.

Victoria Royals defenceman Kade Jensen put up 68 points during his time in the WHL. Adding four points as he helped his team advance to the second round of the playoffs. Jensen was known for his physical presence and excellent defending abilities.

Swift Current Broncos forward Matteo Gennaro recorded 248 points in 338 games. Adding 18 points in 26 games to help the Broncos win the Ed Chynoweth Cup this season. Gennaro signed a contract with the Tucson Roadrunners, affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes.
