WHEAT KINGS’ PROSPECT NAMED AMHL PLAYER OF MONTH

The Source for Sports Players of the Month for December are:

Forward Kord Pankewicz of the Leduc Chrysler Oil Kings (Dodge Division).

Kord’s consistent play with a point a game during the month of December help keep the Oil Kings, who won five of six games, in first place in the Dodge Division of the AMHL. He now is part of both the teams power play and penalty kill units where he is threat to score at all times. Kord is a student of the game and demonstrates his leadership skills by his strong play each and every game.

Forward Mitch McAllister of the UFA Bisons (Chrysler Division).

During the month of December Mitch lead his team to a 4-1-1 record. Mitch guided the team by putting up 3 goals and adding 8 assists for 11 points. As the team captain Mitch, usually provides the spark, a big play, big hit, blocked shot, whatever it might be to get the team going. He is trusted in all situations and excels in all areas of the game. Mitch is a great ambassador for his team and the AMHL according to his coach.

Both players received a Hundred (100) dollar gift certificate from the Source for Sports Dealers of Alberta, a Timex Watch imprinted with the AMHL logo and a commemorative plaque from the Alberta ‘AAA’ Midget Hockey League. Every player nominated, from the other sixteen teams in the league, received a $50.00 gift certificate from the Source for Sports Dealers of Alberta.
