Vancouver Giants reveal 2018 Teddy Bear Toss jerseys
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is ‘playing hockey’ loud for all to hear!”
On Saturday, December 8 (7:00 p.m. PT) at the Pacific Coliseum, the Vancouver Giants will host their 2018 playoff rivals the Victoria Royals for their Teddy Bear Toss game. They’ll be doing so wearing limited-edition one-game only Buddy the Elf themed jerseys!
“Teddy Bear Toss is one of the most highly anticipated games of the season and the Vancouver Giants are always trying to set the bar higher when it comes to the Teddy Bear Toss experience for our fans,” said Giants VP Operations & Assistant General Manager, Peter Toigo. “Who better than a team full of Buddy the Elves to get everybody into the holiday spirit?”
All game-worn Buddy the Elf jerseys will be autographed and will be available to purchase via ONLINE AUCTION until December 12 at 1 PM. Proceeds from these jerseys will go towards the CKNW Kids’ Fund.
HOW TEDDY BEAR TOSS WORKS:
All fans attending Saturday’s Teddy Bear Toss game are encouraged to bring new stuffed toys, toques, mittens, and scarves with them to the game. Then when the Giants score their first goal of the game all items can then be thrown onto the ice! From there, all donations are gathered up, loaded into bins, the Fanboni and are donated to various children’s charities within the Lower Mainland.
Recent Giants to score the ‘Teddy Bear’ goal include:
2017 – Bowen Byram
2016 – James Malm
2015 – Ty Ronning
2014- Jackson Houck
2013 – Trent Lofthouse
2012 – Trevor Cheek
Who will it be in 2018? There’s only one way to find out!
