Sunday’s WHL Round-up
HITMEN DOWN WHEAT KINGS -- Brandon Kozun notched his 20th goal of the season and added an assist as the Calgary Hitmen skated to a 4-1 win over the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings in Western Hockey League action on Sunday, November 30th.
Brendan Rowinski, Brett Sonne and Ian Schultz also scored for the Hitmen (24-4-1-0), who picked up their 11th consecutive victory before 18,105 fans at the team’s annual Teddy Bear Toss game, while Carson McMillan and Keith Seabrook each chipped in two assists. Martin Jones made 25 saves to earn his 16th win of the season.
Brayden Schenn scored the only goal for the Wheat Kings (15-11-1-1), who fall to 2-2 through four games of their current five-game road trip. Andrew Hayes turned aside 22 of 26 shots in a losing cause for the Wheaies.

Brenden Dowd scored a shorthanded goal and a power play goal to pace the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 5-3 win over the visiting Prince Albert Raiders on Sunday.
Brandon Lockerby notched a goal and two assists for the Oil Kings (13-14-1-3), who converted three of five power play chances in picking up their fourth consecutive victory, while Tomas Vincour and Craig McCallum also scored. Torrie Jung made 24 saves to record his seventh win of the season.
Justin Bernhardt – with a goal and an assist – Ryan McDonald and Jordan Rowley scored for the Raiders (13-20-0-0), who suffer their eighth consecutive loss and 20th defeat of the season. Steven Stanford turned aside 30 of 35 shots in the defeat.

Drew Hoff scored twice and Ben Wright picked up three assists as the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors 5-2 on Sunday.
Craig Orfino and Colton Sceviour each tallied a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes (14-12-0-1), who earn their third straight win and fifth in their last six outings, while Zach Boychuk scored his 10th goal of the season. Rookie netminder Michael Tadjdeh made 18 saves to claim his third win in as many career appearances.
Joel Broda scored both goals for the Warriors (7-19-0-1), who drop their fifth straight decision and 10th straight on the road. Deven Dubyk made 37 saves in the loss.

Walker Wintoneak scored two goals while Darian Dziurzynski and Gaelan Patterson each notched a goal and two assists as the visiting Saskatoon Blades skated to a 7-3 victory over the Prince George Cougars on Sunday.
Derek Hulak – with a goal and an assist – Adam Chorneyko and Milan Kytnar also scored for the Blades (19-7-2-0), who pick up their second straight win and improve to 10-1 on the road this season. Braden Holtby made 36 saves to record his 16th victory of the season.
Justin Maylan scored twice and Dallas Jackson also counted for the Cougars (10-18-0-1), who suffer their fifth straight setback and fourth straight at home. Kevin Armstrong and Joe Caligiuri combined for 33 saves in the loss.
