SUNDAY’S WHL PLAYOFF ROUND-UP

TIGERS ELIMINATE BRONCOS – Chad Labelle scored the go-ahead goal 17:36 into the third period to lift the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference first-round series in WHL playoff action on Sunday.

With the victory, the Tigers win the best-of-seven series four games to two and advance to the second round of the WHL playoffs to meet the Kootenay Ice.

Curtis Valk also scored in the third period while Marek Langhamer made 30 saves for the Tigers, who outshot the home side 40-31 in the contest as they advance to the second round of the WHL playoffs for a sixth consecutive season.  Nathan Burns scored the lone goal for the Broncos, who see their 2013-14 campaign come to a close.
