CHIEFS TAKE 2-0 SERIES LEAD OVER HURRICANES WITH GAME TWO WIN — David Rutherford scored once and chipped in two assists to lead the Spokane Chiefs to a 5-2 victory over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes in Game 2 of the 2008 WHL Championship series on Saturday, May 3rd.

rWith the victory, the Chiefs claim a 2-0 lead over the Hurricanes in the best-of-seven series.

rJudd Blackwater – with his 10th post-season tally – Mitch Wahl, Drayson Bowman and Ondrej Roman also scored for the Chiefs, who outshot the visitors 31-24 in the contest. Dustin Tokarski made 22 saves to record his 14th victory of the 2008 playoffs.

rZach Boychuk scored both goals for the Hurricanes, who were held scoreless on two power play chances in the contest to leave them 0-for-5 for the series on the man advantage. Juha Metsola made 26 saves in a losing cause.

rThe Hurricanes will host the Chiefs for Games 3, 4 and 5, if necessary, of the 2008 WHL championship series on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in Lethbridge, AB.
