Raiders Acquire Veteran Forward Bernhardt
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – The Prince Albert Raiders are pleased to announce they have acquired 19 year-old centre/right winger Justin Bernhardt from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for a 4th round selection in the 2009 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. That selection will be a 3rd round pick if Bernhardt is on a WHL roster as of the Overage cut down date in October, 2008.
r
rBernhardt, who started his career in Regina, has played 182 WHL games with 46 goals and 55 assists. This season in 13 games with the Rockets, Bernhardt has 4 goals, including 2 power play markers and 4 assists.
r
râJustin is a right handed shot that can play both centre and wingâ, said Raiders General Manager Donn Clark. âWe’ve had trouble scoring goals this season. Justin has been able to score in the past and hopefully that will continue with us.â
r
rBernhardt, who will wear #14, is expected to make his debut in a Raider uniform Sunday when they host the expansion Edmonton Oil Kings for the first time ever at 6:30 PM.
