Alex Kannok Leipert (Regina, SK) was drafted by the Vancouver Giants in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. Months later he played for Team Saskatchewan at the 2015 Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup. After putting up 24 Points through 68 games over his first two seasons with the Giants, the Washington Capitals called his name at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft in the sixth-round. In September, 2019 the Vancouver Giants named Alex Kannok Leipert their 17th Captain in franchise history. Kannok Leipert is the first Thai-born player drafted to the NHL.
