OIL KINGS HOST RAIDERS, LIVE ON SHAW

CALGARY, AB – Reid Gardiner and the Prince Albert Raiders take on Brett Pollock and the Edmonton Oil Kings in an Eastern Conference showdown, live on SHAW and Shaw HD channel 304 at (7:00pm MT/6:00pm PT). 

The Prince Albert Raiders enter the match-up in second place in the East Division standings, trailing the first place Brandon Wheat Kings by only four points. Prince Albert swung a trade with the Calgary Hitmen on WHL Trade Deadline Day as they acquired forward Layne Bensmiller and defenceman Loch Morrison in hopes of making a deep run through the second half of the regular season and into the post-season. Raiders forward Reid Gardiner is enjoying a consistent season for Prince Albert as he leads the Club in scoring with 57 points (26g-31a) to go along with a plus-12 rating. Gardiner’s 57 points puts him sixth overall in scoring amongst all WHL skaters.

Brett Pollock and the Edmonton Oil Kings continue to have a grasp of the eighth and final playoff spot in the WHL’s Eastern Conference standings with a record of 17-20-5-0. Pollock is in the midst of a solid campaign for the Oil Kings as the veteran has collected a team-high 46 points (17g-29a) and a plus-17 rating. Pollock’s teammate Lane Bauer leads all Oil Kings skaters in goals with 21 and in power play markers with six. Special teams play has been a key contributor to the Oil King’s success as both their power play and penalty kill units are ranked ninth overall amongst all WHL Clubs.
 
Edmonton leads the 2015-16 head-to-head series over Prince Albert with a record of 2-1-0-0. Oil Kings forward Brett Pollock has notched four points (1g-3a) while Raiders forward Reid Gardiner has amassed two goals and an assist in prior match-ups this season.
