LETHBRIDGE HURRICANES: ‘Canes Reach Lease Agreement
Lethbridge, AB – A long-term lease agreement between the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the City of Lethbridge was approved at City Council on Monday.
The two sides have been in negotiations for the past three years but the agreement now ensures the ENMAX Centre will be the home of the hockey club for the next 15 years which takes them through the 2028-2029 season.
Throughout the negotiations, both the City and the Lethbridge Hurricanes have worked hard to come up with an agreement that shows the commitment of the team as well as come reaching a deal that is neutral to both sides.
Lethbridge Hurricanes Board President, Brian McNaughton is pleased the deal has been approved so everyone can move forward. “I believe this is an outstanding deal for the City of Lethbridge and the Hurricanes as it motivates both sides to work together in the future. This also creates a foundation for the Hurricanes to build a business plan and generate the necessary revenue to function at a high level.”
