KAMLOOPS AND KOOTENAY, OPENING ROUND PLAYOFF DATES DETERMINED

KAMLOOPS, BC – The Kamloops Blazers and Kootenay Ice have agreed on tentative dates for their opening round playoff series.

rShould the Blazers finish second in the BC Division, the series would follow a traditional 2-2-1-1-1 format, opening with games one and two in Kamloops on Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd. Games 3 and 4 would be in Cranbrook on Tuesday, March 25th and Wednesday, March 26th. If necessary, game five would be back in Kamloops on Saturday, March 29th; game six in Cranbrook on Monday, March 31st; and game seven in Kamloops on Wednesday, April 2nd.

rIf the Ice finish second, the series would follow a 2-3-2 format. Games one and two would be in Cranbrook on Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd. Games three, four, and if necessary, five, would be held in Kamloops on Wednesday, March 26th, Friday, March 28th, and Saturday, March 29th respectively. Cranbrook would then be the site of games six and seven on Monday, March 31st and Tuesday, April 1st.

rThe Ice and Blazers are currently tied for second place in the BC Division with 76 points. The Blazers have 6 regular season games remaining, the Ice have 5. The two teams do not meet again this regular season.
